Durendal Fountain Pen
Durendal is the first fountain pen designed and produced by Paladin Pen Company and serves as the nucleus of our brand. Its handsome proportions and restrained dimensions make it equally suited to everyday writing and more formal occasions, yet its sleek, classic, torpedo-shaped profile and understated elegance make it particularly at home in the boardroom.
Distinguished by signature design elements that balance sophistication and utility, Durendal has been thoughtfully conceived to make every writing experience intuitive and refined. Its silicone inner cap seals the nib to preserve immediate responsiveness, while the chainmail-engraved grip section pairs tactile character with a subtly textured surface for greater control in hand. The nib and feed are notched for perfect resetting after a thorough cleaning. No detail is merely ornamental; each serves a considered purpose.
The pen is crafted from brass, enveloped in richly colored enamel, and finished with a hard, crystal-clear, scratch-resistant lacquer that lends depth and lasting brilliance to its surface. Its generously proportioned two-tone stainless-steel nib is made in-house, then etched with our signature plumed armet, detailed in 22K gold, and individually run-in by hand. The result is a nib that glides effortlessly across the page while retaining just enough feedback to preserve the unmistakable sensation of writing with a fountain pen.
Its solid-brass construction imparts a reassuring sense of substance and durability while providing the weight and balance necessary for hours of comfortable writing. The result is a pen that feels substantial without becoming cumbersome—classical in form, purposeful in every detail, and undeniably Paladin.

Durendal, also spelled Durandal, was the name of the infamous sword of Roland; one of Charlemagne’s Twelve Peers, and the leader of the first paladins.
